Her First Valentine

Kennedy made valentines for all her friends. But she says boys are stinky and she does not like them, so they were all for girls. Except, for one. She was very adamant that Owen must receive a valentine. Owen is a four-year old at church. She made sure numerous times that we had a valentine for Owen. Of course, she would not give Owen this valentine, but I would have to. So last Sunday at church I gave Owen his High School Musical valentine and a homemade candy sucker. I told him that he was the only boy Kennedy wanted to give a valentine to. He gave me a big smile when I said that. His older brother has since told us that Owen is now telling people that Kennedy is his valentine. And so it begins...at age 3...not sure we're ready for this!

Tube Time

After a trip to the doctor to tell us Ansley does indeed have another double ear infection, we have made an appointment to see and Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor in a few weeks to schedule tubes. I hate to put my baby through it, but Kennedy had them twice, and I know how great life is afterward! Here are a few pictures I finally downloaded from my camera.

After lots of practice of mommy helping her write her name for Valentines, Kennedy has begun writing her name. Can you see it? I think she's off to a good start. Longing to be outside with her big sister

We had some friends over one night, and they have 3 girls, ages 4, 3, and 1. Kennedy was in heaven and they all entertained each other so the mommies and daddies could actually have adult conversations! Isn't this cute? I'm not sure where Ansley is though!

O What a Night...

Remember that cold I told you about? Well it's causing this household to get very little sleep at night right now. Jeremy was up with Ansley from about 12-2 last night, and then I was up with her from about 2-4. However, instead of crying like she was with Jeremy for some reason she got very perky and goofy. We spent that time on the couch giggling, tickling, and playing peek-a-boo. She kept saying "Mama nigh nigh" and I kept saying "Great idea kid!". We did have a lot of fun despite the fact it was the middle of the night. Finally after some milk, I said "Ansley do you want to go up to your bed?" She looked at me, shook her head "no" and laid down on the couch next to me. I thought we might just sleep there the rest of the night, but about 15 minutes later I decided to take her up to her crib, and low and behold, she went to sleep until 8:30 this morning! However, at 7:00 I heard Kennedy say "Mom I think I peed in the bed". In my sleepiness I was trying to process how this happened with a pull-up on, when it hit me that I never put a pull-up on her last night! She's obviously not ready to sleep in underwear! Needless to say, I have already done a few loads of laundry this morning, and I'm ready for naptime already! Here are a few pictures of the girls this morning "sharing" Kennedy's princess throne. Notice we eventually decided to get on our princess dresses.

Happy Tuesday!

Here's the face of a happy Kennedy after she found out that High School Musical 3 came out on video today. We rented it from Redbox for her watching enjoyment. She only saw it twice in the theaters and the last time was back in November, so she was quite excited. I'm so tempted just to go buy it for her, but the plan is to give it to her for her birthday in June...if we can wait that long.

And now for an update on something I'm sure you're all dying to know about. My running. You can't really tell from the pictures, but the shoes are being broken in quite nicely. I'm on week five, and actually started running more than I walk now. It's funny because after the first week and running only a total of 6 minutes, I thought I was gonna die! My body ached, I felt like I had asthma, and I didn't know how I would ever keep it up. Today I ran a total of 18 minutes, and while I didn't enjoy every minute of it, I could still breathe afterward and felt pretty good.

I finally brought along the iPod today, and don't know why I hadn't done that before! It was so much nicer to run to music. Just four more weeks and I should be running 30 minutes straight. I still don't know how I will do that, but I also didn't know how I would get to where I am now, and somehow I did, so I'll just keep truckin!

In other news, Jeremy is the only one that hasn't caught the nasty cold that I somehow got last week. Ansley has it bad now, and it's just starting on Kennedy. I was out with a fever for a couple of days, and just felt miserable. Ansley hasn't slept all week, and Kennedy's nose is all stuffed up. Fun times. Kennedy had a preschool screening today. She did really well and scored high for her age. There was one section about cause/effect that was pretty cute. They gave her a statement for her to finish like "If I was thirsty I would ________" and she said "get a drink". However the next statement was "If I walked into I dark room I would _______". The answer they were looking for was "turn on the light" but she replied with "cry." The last one was "If I broke something I would ________". Her reply: "I wouldn't break something." She must've forgotten about the two computers of mine that she has broken. :)

Tumbling Time

Kennedy is constantly doing front rolls, monkey jumps, cartwheels, tuck jumps, etc. around the house. Ansley has started trying to mimic her. Here are both girls in front roll position. That's about as far as Ansley gets though. And don't worry, I didn't take her out of the house dressed like that today...she dumped a water bottle down her shirt and had to be changed...we only changed her top though.

Funny One by Kennedy

Tonight, as Kennedy was getting out of the shower, she found an empty toilet paper roll in the trash can. She put it up to her eye, looked at me, and said "How do you like my ipod?" I thought it was pretty clever. Silly little girl...

Birthday Fun!

We finally uploaded the pictures of Ansley's birthday party. If you click on this picture, it will take you to some more. I took Ansley to the doctor today (she has another ear infection!) and got her one year check-up. Her stats are as follows:
Weight: 20 pounds 8 ounces (25-50th%)
Height: 30 inches (75th%)
Head: Still off the charts
So basically, she is a tall, skinny girl with a fat head!

Ansley is still an easy-going laid back child! Some things she loves:
-Kennedy--she lights up when Kennedy enters the room
-Her Daddy--She gets excited when she hears the garage go up when he gets home from work
-Her Mommy--She is a momma's girl and loves to give me kisses!
-Books--I love when she is so intently studying a book, and it is upside down! Cracks me up!
-Eating--especially cookies, peaches, milk, and anything else she can get her little hands on!
-Talking on the phone--her pretend phone that is, in which she has very lengthy babbling conversations
-Sleeping--when she's ready for bed, she lets us know...she'll lay her head on our laps or lay down on the ground...and she rarely gets upset when we put her down for a nap or bedtime
-Her Burp Cloths--Weird, I know. She MUST have one in her mouth to go to sleep, or she will have a fit. Lucky we have about 20 of them, so we can change them out each day! They are her security blanket...if mommy and daddy aren't around, then she better have a burp cloth nearby, or she will be an unhappy child!
-Trying to escape and climb the stairs--If we ever forget to put the gate in front of the stairs, she makes a beeline for it, and tries to get as high as possible on the stairs, while giggling, shaking her head, and saying "no no no no no" the whole time.
-Baby dolls--especially ones that talk-she loves to give them hugs and kisses
-Dancing--She will stop whatever she is doing when she hears the theme song to Dora or Diego and starts busting a move!
-The toilet--Just as she tries to climb the stairs whenever she gets a chance, she also loves to play in the toilet whenever she gets a chance. We have to keep bathroom doors shut around here.
-Going places--She can be in a fussy mood, and gets so excited when I put her in the carseat to go somewhere-doesn't matter where!
-Making us laugh--If she does something that makes us laugh, she'll do it again and again and again.
-Playing in the kitchen drawers-In fact her and Kennedy love "sword fighting" with some salad tongs that are separated that Ansley found in one of the kitchen drawers...it's quite amusing.

Superbowl Sunday

This year's Superbowl is pretty calm compared to last years. This is what we were doing on that day. We had Ansley's big birthday party yesterday, and let me just say, that girl LOVES her some cake!!! I'll post about that day soon. Her big day is actually on Tuesday, and it turns out we will be in Peoria that day for a funeral for my Great-Uncle John. I still can't believe my baby is one! Time sure does fly!
