New Pictures

We took the girls last weekend to get their pictures taken.  Ansley was easy, and we got some great pics of her.  After a bribery of candy and a new toy, we finally got Kennedy to smile.  We have always had the worst time trying to get her picture taken.  Something about the picture place always makes her cry.  I thought she would have outgrown that by now, but I guess I was wrong.  Fortunately, she's at the age where bribery works (usually).

Left Out

Well Ansley woke up from her nap and felt a little left out of the picture taking fun. So here's a few of her too!

A New Approach

Kennedy and I had a little fun this morning on photo booth on the computer. Just thought I'd post a few. We are trying a new approach to potty training this week. We thought we had her completely potty-trained. For about 3 weeks she wore her Princess/Tinkerbell/Dora underwear with few to no accidents. Then Ansley was born. And boy did she ever regress--to the point she refused to even think about sitting on the potty. We've tried bribery, punishment, and just completely not worrying about it. But I'm sick of changing her diaper, especially when I know she can do it, it's just that she chooses not to! So I gave her a big talk about how if she wants to keep wearing diapers like a baby, then we are going to have to treat her like a baby. She will have to take more naps, and drink from bottles and only play with baby toys and eat baby food. (Maybe I'm a little harsh, but I'm desperate!) She did not like that idea at all, so I decided to incorporate a little more bribery into the mix. So I took her to a candy store at the mall and let her pick out whatever special candy that she wanted, to be her "potty candy" that she only gets to eat when she goes potty. She picked out chocolate basketballs, chocolate tennis balls and tootsie rolls. We had a nice little collection ready to go, when she saw the ultimate candy for her. Chocolate rocks. This girl loves rocks. We can't go anywhere without her stopping and filling her pockets with rocks. In fact one Wednesday night at church her teacher was telling the story about the wise man and foolish man. She brought sand for the kids to feel, so they knew what the foolish man built his house upon. However, the teacher forgot a rock to show, but luckily our future geologist had one in her pocket that she let the teacher use to finish the lesson. So I let her also get a bag of chocolate rocks. I think that she thinks they are too pretty to eat though, because she hasn't chosen them as her special treat yet. But, since we bought the special potty candy, we have been wearing big girl underwear and haven't had an accident yet. Knock on wood though, it's only been a day, but I'm hoping it works! Her final prize is a trip to Chuck E. Cheese when she doesn't have to wear any more diapers! Let's hope that's sooner than later!

Cardinal Country

In honor of opening season of baseball, we decided to dress Ansley up in her new Cardinal sleeper some friends from church got her. Then Kennedy saw the fun we were having and wanted to join in. She was in red too, it just happened to be an old red dance costume that we got at a garage sale. She did sport her Cardinal hat for a brief moment though. (Notice she's holding a wand too--she was being a princess!) Good thing we're all Cardinal fans, because if you haven't heard, we are moving to St. Louis this summer! Jeremy took a job as the youth minister at the Mid-County Church of Christ and he starts July 1st! We are very excited, but will feel even better when we sell our house and find one down there! Then we'll be ready to go! Fortunately, it's less than 3 hours away, so we will still be able to come home and visit quite a bit. So that's the big Picker news for now! Go Cardinals!

Our Little Oinker and More

Well, I think I'm getting the hang of blogging, but Jeremy still hasn't told me how to link the pics to our picasa website, so right now you can't click on the pictures to get more. I'll learn someday though. Today we had Ansley's 2 month appointment. We knew she had some cheeks on her, but the girl is 13 pounds! She is 24 inches long and her head (thanks to Daddy) is in the 98th percentile for size! My sister Stacy reminded me though that her sister Kennedy was 14 pounds at two months. (Thanks Stacy for remembering--although I feel a bit like a bad mom that her aunt knew that information and her own mom didn't :) So she's a big girl, but not quite as big as her sister was at that age. Here's a picture of her from Sunday before church.
She had to get shots today, but she had her big sister giving her pep talks the whole way there: "Ansley, Dr. Neese is very nice. He won't hurt you. He won't break you. I will be there with you to take care of you." However, when time came for the shots, Kennedy lost it. She did not like watching her sister go through that. Of course, neither does mommy. She's a very good big sister though. Here's a picture of them in their matching outfits. Also, I promised pictures from our visit with the Davies. So here are a few of those as well. Sidney and Kennedy had the best time together. It's so fun having cousins the same age. And Caleb, although he is only 3 months older than Ansley looks like he could eat her. He's one big boy. But I think she could catch up someday! Unfortunately, I can't find any cute pictures of the older girls together, but I'm sure we have some we can post later!

Trying something new

Jeremy is very busy these days, so I (Laura) decided to try posting on our blog. We'll see if it works! We have some new great pictures of Ansley smiling--which she is doing a lot lately. She especially likes when her big sister gives her attention. Kennedy is the only person who has gotten her to laugh! Unfortunately, I can't find all of the rest of the pictures on this computer--I don't know where Jeremy stored them. I'll have him show me later and I'll post more (or get him to do it!) We also just got done with a great week with the Davies family in town. We have some pictures from that we'll post too.
